The votes are in for the 6th Annual Global Poker Awards and there are plenty of notable standouts. PokerStars ambassador and two-time award winner Caitlin Comeskey is nominated for four awards, while fellow GPA winners Joe Stapleton and Marle Spragg are both nominated in three categories.
Among the players and industry figures nominated in two categories include Daniel Negreanu, Nikki Limo, Dara O'Kearney, David Lappin, Barry Carter, Barny Boatman and content creator Abby Merk, who was nominated for both Rising Star in Content Creation and Best Media Content: Short-Form Video for her entertaining collaboration with Comeskey at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Some of the standout categories include Players Choice for Toughest Opponent (Stephen Chidwick, Isaac Haxton, Jason Koon and Adrian Mateos), Best X/Twitter Personality (Marle Spragg, Jamie Kerstetter, Comeskey, and Barry Carter), Best Vlogger (Corey Eyring, Daniel Negreanu, Brad Owen, Wolfgang Poker, Masato Yokosawa), Best Content: Short-Form Video (Jesse Fullen, Spragg, Comeskey/Merk, and Nikki Limo) Most Entertaining Player (Fans Choice) (Alejandro Lococo, Michael "Texas Mike" Moncek, Seth "SethyPoker" Moeller and Comeskey).

PokerNewsreceived nods in several categories, including a Best Podcast nomination for the revamped PokerNewsPodcast co-hosted by Chad Holloway, Kyna England and Mike Holtz, as well as in the Best Media Content: Written category for Connor Richards' story on the late music icon Steve Albini's Chicago poker home game.
Meanwhile, PokerNewslive reporting veterans Christian Zetzsche (who won the award in 2021) and David Salituro are nominated for Best Live Tournament Reporter, while PokerNewsWSOP photographers Danny Maxwell and Rachel Kay Winter (last year's winner) are nominated for Best Media Content: Photo for their respective shots of European Poker Tour (EPT) and World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Championship events.
The winners will be announced in a ceremony at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas on Feb. 22. The ceremony will also honor players including GPI Poker Player of the Year David Coleman, Female Player of the Year Cherish Andrews (a two-time winner), Mid-Major Player of the Year Han Feng, Jesse Lonis for Most Weeks at GPI #1 in 2024 and PokerGO Tour (PGT) Player of the Year Jeremy Ausmus.
