Since sets & runs are the foundation of a winning hand, creating them is the main goal. Three or four cards with the same rank but different suits make up a set; for example, three 7s from clubs, diamonds, and hearts. A run, on the other hand, is a group of three or more cards in the same suit that appear one after the other, such as the spades 4, 5, & 6.
