The 2025 season of the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) really hit its stride with the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica festival.
The festival was host to a parade of unusual scenarios. Frank Hanna won Event #2 with a straight flush, a staggeringly rare occurrence; William Stanford won two rings back-to-back then followed it up with a third ring a few tourneys later, which doesn't happen often; and Preston McEwen won his seventh ring ever, something only 48 other people have ever achieved.
Along with these anomalies, there were also the usual achievements — several players won their first rings, the Horseshoe Tunica paid out $2,487,610 in prizes, and Jessie Bryant won the Main Event.
Stanford Wins Three Rings

Eighteen rings found new fingers at the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica. However, three of them were on the same hand.
William Stanford started the series with four rings already in the trophy case.
His first win of the festival was in Event #9: $400 No-Limit Hold'em. He only just made the late registration cut-off, having busted on the bubble of the previous event. He pulled up a seat, jammed his stack in, and immediately doubled up.
From there it was plain sailing to $13,075 and ring number five.

The next day he bought a seat in Event #10 — the $1,100 pot limit Omaha high roller event. He plowed through that field, going back-to-back and collecting another $36,423 along with ring number six.
For the next few events, it looked like Stanford might be taking a break from climbing that podium. However, in the penultimate event of the series, he got another run going and secured ring number seven, his third of the festival. At that point, the $17,262 he won for taking the event down was just icing.
Preston McEwan Wins Ring #7

Stanford's third ring in this festival brought him to seven overall. This puts him in the same bracket as Preston McEwen, who also won his seventh ring at Horseshoe Tunica.
“It’s been a minute since my last WSOP Circuit ring," McEwen told the WSOP. "So it’s a great feeling to get there again.”
McEwen took down Event #8: $600 Mystery Bounty, just before Stanford's back-to-back victories in Events #9 & #10. McEwen beat a relatively small field of 87 players, earning a first-place payout of $24,592 including bounties.
The victory carried a special weight for McEwen as the Horseshoe Tunica is his home field, a casino at which he has played for around 15 years. “I love it here," McEwen told the WSOP. "It feels like home every time I come back and play here.”

Jess Bryant Wins The Main Event

People often talk about "hunting" poker achievements: title hunting, glory hunting, bracelet hunting. Jesse Bryant took that figure of speech seriously this week when he turned up to the final table of the WSOPC Event #12: $1,700 Main Event in a ghillie suit.
Bryant went on to win the event which had accumulated 487 entries and a total prize pool of $737,805. This turnout made the first-place prize of $144,962 the second-biggest game Bryant ever brought to ground.
Bryant was already familiar with his prey, having bagged five previous WSOPC rings. So, bringing home a sixth was a walk in the (safari) park for this hunter. Bryant accumulated chips rapidly at the final table, going into heads up play with Dylan Lemery at a significant chip advantage.
Lemery was able to hold on for a while before Bryant cracked Lemery's aces with a flopped two pair. Lemery didn't improve and was sent to the rail in second place. Lemery earned $96,983 for second place.
