When players successfully meld cards, they receive points; when they hold unmelded cards, their total scoreroyaly rummy suffers. When a player successfully melds every card in their deck, the round is over and the scores are calculated. At the conclusion of several rounds, the player with the highest score is proclaimed the winner.

Three or more consecutive cards in the same suit (a run) or three or more cards of the same rank (a set) can make up a meld.
