The game has roots in many different cultures & dates back to the early 19th century, which has led to the creation of multiple regional adaptations.
  • A standard deck of cards is used in this classic version of the game, which usually has two to six players. The goal is simple: players must draw and discard cards in order to create valid sets or runs. Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit make up a run, whereas three or four cards of the same rank but different suits make up a set. Each player starts the game with a certain number of cards, and the remaining cards are arranged in a draw pile. Players try to get better hands by drawing from the draw or discard piles until they can declare Rummy by melding all of their cards.
